监制徐克，麦当雄，武术指导程小东。 本剧播出时间为1979年9月1日，比无线电视的《楚留香》（1979年9月3日播出）播出时间早，但安排在周六播出，避免与《楚留香》正面对决。 如此安排据传目的在于：1979年《天蚕变》一剧，促使无线电视腰斩单元节目，急召郑少秋等人拍摄《楚留香》，威胁到《天蚕变》的收视率。同时，丽的电视一方随即反应，麦当雄抽调潘志文等人拍摄同样讲述楚留香故事的《侠盗风流》，以削弱《楚留香》收视率，从而保障《天蚕变》的收视率。。This is a story about people in love with cinema, and a country going through its most difficult times.
