志愿成为摄影师的泉泽月子（中村麻美饰）3年曾遭遇一场车祸，在此之后她便患上失眠症，并且无法回忆起车祸之前发生的事。为了摆脱困扰，月子向精神科医生細野辰子（洞口依子饰）求助。通过催眠疗法，月子无意识说出了“富江”这个名字。不久，刑警原田省二（田口トモロヲ 饰）拜访细野，因为他正在调查的神秘女子富江（菅野美穂饰）与细野和月子都有着千丝万缕的关系。与此同时，月子公寓的楼下搬来一个行踪诡秘的男子，与他同来的还有一颗具有生命并且持续生长的头颅。月子尘封的噩梦渐渐被揭开…… 本片根据日本著名恐怖漫画家伊藤润二的同名系列漫画改编。。Lily's life is turned upside down when she is forced to leave her friends to spend the summer on a remote ranch with her nature-loving aunt.
