一百多年前，林家的祖先来到台湾岛，并在这里定居。林家两辈从医，祖父精通中医，父亲林汉敏擅长西医外科，平日在日本人八重开设的诊所内上班。某晚，汉敏的妻子待产，主刀医生八重却醉卧斗室，手足无措的汉敏只得硬着头皮为妻子剖腹。1928年4月9日，就在台湾被日本侵占的第33个年头，林家迎来了新的生命。而他们一家人，也注定在这纷乱时代中经历无数的悲欢离合。。Set in a small town in West Texas, four boyhood friends who made a solemn promise to leave town together immediately after high school graduation must now "put up or shut up." The clock is ticking, and as all 81 people in town watch, offer advice, and place bets, these four very different boys struggle with the biggest decision of their lives . . . whether to stay or leave home...。
