宫松是一名缆车操作员，同时也是兼职龙套演员。他会变成武士飞奔在江户的一条僻静的小巷里，也会在繁华的东京街头化身亡命匪徒。他流动在在各种“角色”中，生活在失真的状态里。他从哪里来？又该往哪里去？。The film tells the story of three people for a year: a son (Magimel) diagnosed with cancer, a mother (Deneuve) suffering from helplessness and a doctor (Cécile de France) to do her job: One year and four seasons for these three characters to deal with the disease, to tame it, and to understand what it means to die while alive.。
